Ace-It Tutoring Program

Our award-winning ACE IT Tutoring Program was established in 2014 and has provided an environment for nursing and pre-nursing students to help each other grow and succeed in their academic endeavors.

Join the tutoring program as an N180 Tutor/Volunteer tutor and/or Tutee

ACE IT Coordinators will pair up tutors and tutees. The pre-assigned pairings are mainly for structure and convenience. Feel free to open your tutoring sessions to other students and Tutees who you may know that need mentoring but please ask them to officially become an ACE IT Tutee with us by filling out this form: tinyurl.com/ACEITform. This helps both tutors and tutees qualify for Top Tutor/Top Tutee and other benefits

How to be an Ace-It Tutor:

Take N180 and choose to be an ANS Ace-It Tutor:

Please read and fill out N180 contract and email it to Dr. Butzlaff at alice.butzlaff@sjsu.edu to receive an add code.
One can take up to 4 units of N180. 1 unit = 45 hours tutoring.
45 hours tutoring must be completed to earn 1 unit, including at least 30 hours of in-person tutoring (online session accepted)

Volunteer

Please read and fill out this form
Complete 25 hours tutoring, including at least 20 hours of in-person tutoring (online session accepted
No requirement to be an ANS member.

Terms & Conditions

At the end of tutoring sessions, please email us at aceitsjsu@gmail.com:
- Tutoring hours (group tutor is NOT counted as multiple hours)
- Selfie with tutee as proof of tutoring sessions
- Topics discussed during the session.
Complete alternative hours to reach required hours if tutees are not available, including making study guides, NCLEX questions, attending ANS meetings/events, etc.
Send Tutor Evaluation Form to tutees to fill out

How to Qualify for
Top Tutors:

Complete 45 hours (N180 tutor) or 25 hours (Volunteer tutor)
Earn the highest average from points calculated based on the evaluation form (max 25 points each) over the number of tutoring sessions.
